Waterproofs -check;life jacket for Dog -check, sleeper tickets - check and we are off. 19 hours later broken down train having resulted in a bus journey through the Trossacks and Glen Coe, Fort William appears on the horizon.
A warm welcome on board and wee dram set the scene for the coming week.
Spectacular scenery, with abundant wild flower along the canal banks, followed by an anchor dram and home-made meals became the new norm. The weathers added an exciting uncertainty.
Dog took to sailing like a duck on to water - locks were big excitement as a whole new world appeared after the boat
mysteriously fell or dank - and there was the possibility of a dog on the bank to grumble at. Magnus initiated as a deck hand and even Carole took turn at steering!

The final icing on the cake that was our journey along the Caledonia Canal - bottle nosed dolphins playing in the Moray Firth as we came into dock for the final at Inverness (in pouring rain).
Tack så mycket för en oförglömlig tur. Vi ses på Tarn

Magnus, Carole and Diamant
